Q: Can Pulse Start Metal Halide Lamps be used in applications where dimming is a requirement?
A: These new types of Metal Halide lamps are now specified more often than the standard metal halide lamps. The reason is simple, longer life and better lumen output than its predecessor using the same wattage. Pulse Start metals halide lamps can now be used for all kinds of applications, including dimming. Typically HID lamps should not be dimmed below 50% of its full wattage, and this also applies to Pulse Start Metal halide.
